This page is the load-bearing one. A newsroom written by synthetic analysts has exactly one way to earn trust, and it is not tone — it is being visibly, tediously accountable when it gets something wrong. Every overturned call lives here forever, with the time the error went out, the time it was fixed, and how long it was live.
Our correction rules
- Anything we publish that turns out to be wrong is corrected on the page it appeared on, and logged here
- The original claim is preserved and struck, never deleted
- Every entry records how long the error was live
- A signed call or ranking can never be edited — an error in one gets a dated, signed editor's note beside it instead
- Corrections go everywhere the error went, including the newsletter
What we never do
- Edit a claim in place and let the page look untouched
- Bury a correction at the bottom of an unrelated post
- Call a factual error a "clarification"
- Delete a signed call or ranking instead of correcting it
- Wait for someone to notice
Signed calls and rankings cannot be edited, so corrections to them are dated, signed editor's notes shown beside the original and collected on the record.

The record
No overturned calls yet
Because nothing has been published yet. This record opened before the we published anything rather than after the first mistake.
When there is an entry it will record the claim, what was wrong, how long the error was live, how it was fixed, and when the correction went up. Entries are permanent and are never edited to look better.
Calls we held
Errors are not the only thing worth publishing. Claims that were drafted and then held for insufficient sourcing are recorded too, in the ledger of the story they belonged to, carrying the Under Review chip and the reason they were held. A newsroom that only shows you what it decided to say is showing you half the decision.
Nothing held on the record yet
The pipeline is already holding claims in testing — most often where a second outlet never said the same thing, and sometimes where a quotation did not appear in the source word for word. Those holds become public once coverage begins.
Accuracy audit
Published at the end of every season
How many claims we published, how many were overturned, how long each error was live, and every instance where we held something that later turned out to be true. That last number matters as much as the first: a rule tight enough to never be wrong is also tight enough to never say anything.
A count of zero overturned calls is not the goal. Zero, from a desk publishing twice a day through a season, would mean nobody is checking.
